Younan Nowzaradan, M.D., F.A.C.S., has been serving patients with compassion for over 30 years. As a general and vascular surgeon he was the first doctor in Houston to adopt the benefits of laparoscopic surgery.
He received his medical degree from University of Tehran, Iran in 1970 and completed his surgical residency training at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. He also completed his Cardiovascular Fellowship at the Texas Heart Institute in Houston, Texas.
He has published many scientific papers in the area of laparoscopic surgery and he accepts referrals on the most challenging weight reduction surgical candidates who have been previously denied by other surgical centers, especially the super morbidly obese (over 600 lbs.). He performs revisions of unsuccessful previous weight reduction surgery.
In addition to his work with Obesity Surgery Specialists, Dr. Nowzaradan practices at Renaissance Hospital Houston, First Street Hospital, University General Hospital, Doctors Hospital at Tidwell, and Doctors Hospital at Parkway. Dr. Nowzaradan has performed over 1000 bariatric procedures.
